When a crisis hits, an evaluation comes back, or a meeting gets scheduled with 48 hours notice, you don't have time to dig. Fill this out once. Update it when things change. Keep it at the front of your folder.
Your right to records. You can inspect and review all education records related to your child without unnecessary delay, and within 45 calendar days of your request (34 C.F.R. § 300.613(a)). The school cannot charge you to search for or retrieve those records (34 C.F.R. § 300.617). This index helps you track what you have and what you still need to request.
